Sister Kramer: A Legend

So this week we got transfer letters they are sending me to CORNERBROOK NEWFOUNDLAND!!! they are sending me back to the rock!!! so crazy.....also they are closing wolfville for sister so we have to close the area which is kind of stressful but we have some good elders to help us!

So in one of my comp studies my companion shared with me the story of cherokee legend of a boys rite of passage...

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night until the rays of the morning sun shine through his blindfold. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night he is a man. He cannot tell the other boys of his experience, because each boy must come into manhood on his own.
the boy is naturally terrified!
he can hear all kinds of noises. wild beasts must surely be all around. Maybe some human might do him harm...the wind shakes his stump. But he sat. never removig the blindfold.
finally after a horrific night the sun appears and he removed his blindfold. it was then he discovered his father sitting on  the stump next to him.
He had been at watch the entire night. Protecting his son.

This story is like us and our father in heaven...it this life we must walk by faith and not  sight but our Heavenly father is always there always watching over us and protecting us!

{somethings never change :) }

love you guys
Sister Kramer
