Last Van on the Ferry

We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We love living on Vancouver Island. The only thing we have come to dislike is the ferry. Expensive, unpredictable and time consuming. Planning even a day trip off the Island can be a logistical nightmare. On Saturday we had the best luck ever....we were the last van to make it on the ferry.

We had a fun, busy day at the Temple and Science World in Vancouver with the entire Kramer Clan minus Grant's dad. It was awesome to watch all the Kramer cousins have a blast together. We left Science World in downtown Vancouver just after 4 pm and pulled into the Tswwassen Ferry Terminal at 4:50pm .... we were told the 5 pm sailing was 97 percent full..but they would try to get us on ...As the traffic director put the dreaded orange cone in front of our van we were positive we would have to wait another 2 hours for the next sailing...But to our amazement they moved the cone and waived "the loser cruiser" (our 15 passenger behemoth) on to the bottom deck. We were the last Van on the bottom deck. They stop us on the loading ramp and moved an 18 wheeler a couple of feet forward and we squeezed on. My mother in laws jeep was squeezed on the top deck. Best luck in the world that day.
