We made a quick trip back to our old stomping ground, Port Alberni, today to drop off our taxes at the accountant and say hi to a friend or two. I do miss many good friends there It turned out to be a perfect day. A great time to catch up. But, the weather was CRAZY. We left here with sunglasses on, sun shinning, took the ocean side route down to Parksville to avoid the snow and ice on the new highway. We didn't. The roads, even by the water, were awful for 20 or so kilometers.
Have I ever mentioned I'm the worlds worst passenger, I probably need therapy, reason #372.(sorry for the claw marks Grant) We drove through unploughed roads in Port. But never had a problem. On the way home it was the wind and heavy rain that slowed us down. In little more than a 100 km travelled SUN. SNOW. SLUSH RAIN. WIND. man I wish mother nature would make up her mind....
As we were just about home they issued a wind warning for tomorrow morning:
Sustained southerly winds of 70 to 100 km/h with peak gusts from 100 to 140 km/h will develop Wednesday morning. This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
Oh joy!!! Just what we need, a hurricane!!
Okay spring you can show up any time now....winter sucks or in this case BLOWS!
